Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina and Area is governed by a volunteer board of directors made up of
community professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.

Our board consists of 9-12 members. Appointment terms are three years in length. Each director is eligible to serve two terms, for a total of six years. Members are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in the Fall of each year.

We are a governance board focused on strategic oversight and direction adhering to the BBBS Canada National Standards.

As an employer and as a volunteer organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina and Area is committed to continually enhancing our services by understanding and responding to the evolving needs of the diverse communities we serve. This involves an introspective process that supports a broad understanding of how to build knowledge and embed principles of Justice, Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) in all that we do. To support the organization in fulfilling these commitments, an equitable and sustained effort will be made to attract and encourage diverse candidates to apply for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina Board of Directors.

The Board seeks knowledge and experience, including lived experience, to provide strategic guidance to the organization, ensure necessary resources are in place to provide effective oversight and support management in realizing their objectives. With strong management in place, the Board’s role is to uphold strong governance.

In 2026, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors is seeking up to three (3) candidates to join the Board of Directors. While all applications will be considered, we are actively seeking those with an understanding of the non-profit sector and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)
• Legal and Governance
• Nonprofit Fundraising and Resource Development

  1. Interested applicants submit their application and resume online by July 7th, 2026.
  2. Current board members and the Executive Director will meet with select candidates to provide an overview of the organization and board, including roles, responsibilities and expectations of board members
  3. A slate of proposed new board members will be selected by the current board and identified as recommended nominees for election.
  4. New board members are elected to the board at the Annual General Meeting in Fall 2026.
