Community 1-1 Mentoring Program

What is the Community Mentoring Program?

It matches a Mentee (ages 6-17) with a Volunteer Mentor (18+) to build a Developmental Relationship that expresses care, challenges growth, provides support, shares power, and expands possibilities.

How much time do I need to commit?  Mentor/mentee matches meet for 2-4 hours per week, after school or on the weekends, in the community for a minimum of 1 year.

What would my mentee and I do together? Opportunities are endless and depend on your shared interests and personalities, examples could include, cooking and baking together, playing sports or going for a walk, playing a board or video game, crafting, participating in our BIG Group Activities (link to that page), going to a movie, walking around Wascana Lake and participating in any of the awesome community events in our City.

What is the focus of this Program? Build a healthy developmental relationship that supports social-emotional competence, mental wellness, educational engagement, and employment readiness by reducing risk-taking behaviors and promoting healthy development.

What might be the impact? Creates lifelong connections and supports positive growth for children and youth.
