Big Group Activities

What is the BIG Group Activity Program?

The BIG Group Activity Program is for mentees and their families, as well as matches. Since many young people wait over a year to get a one-on-one mentor, this program gives them fun and engaging activities to take part in while they wait. These activities include social, educational, cultural, and creative experiences.

How much time do I need to commit?

BIG Group Activity events happen 2-3 times a month, usually in the evenings or on weekends, and last a couple of hours. Volunteers can choose which events to attend based on their schedule.

What would I do as a Mentor?

As a mentor, you’ll take part in group activities with young people, helping them feel included, supported, and encouraged. You’ll join in on the fun, build connections, and be a positive role model.

What is the focus of this Program?

This program helps young people and their families feel connected and supported while they wait for a one-on-one mentor. Through group activities, they can build friendships, gain confidence, and have fun in a safe and welcoming space.

What might be the impact of the program?

By joining in, you’ll help young people feel a sense of belonging, develop social skills, and have positive experiences while they wait for a mentor. Your time and support can make a big difference in their journey.
